I am currently the Preparing Future Faculty postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Political Science at the University of Missouri. I received my PhD in Political Science with a focus on International Relations and Comparative Politics in July of 2016.
I study political violence, human rights, and the behavior of authoritarian regimes. My dissertation work focuses on how governments legitimate their uses of force against civilians. I am also interested in the geospatial relationships that influence a government’s use of violence and the responses of substate actors.
