My current research interests center around international conflict, transnational relations, and political methodology. I primarily examine conflict processes in wars, disputes, and crises, analyzing which actions states take that lead to conflict onset or escalation. I also study how terrorism and the actions of other violent non-state actors affect international relations and interstate conflict. Lastly, I am interested in exploring new methods to better empirically examine international relations studies.
