University of Missouri junior Taylor Cofield has been selected for the Harry S Truman Scholarship, a nationally-competitive award that supports students dedicated to public service. Selections for the Truman Scholarship are chosen on the basis of their academic success and leadership accomplishments, as well as their likelihood of becoming public service leaders. The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is one of the most competitive and prestigious of the national fellowships, and Truman Scholars are among the most accomplished students throughout the nation. The Political Science department has had two recipients and several named finalists for this scholarship.
