Bruna is a first-year Ph.D. student in Political Science at the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs. Her research focuses on violence in Latin America, especially Brazil. Within this theme, her research agenda includes:

  1. Transitional justice;
  2. Regional characteristics that facilitate violence by security forces;
  3. Corruption within security forces that leads to the formation of parallel groups (militias and paramilitary groups);
  4. Repression promoted by parallel groups.

One of Bruna's personal goals is to make information about graduate school more accessible for individuals from South America. If you are interested in applying to Political Science programs and have questions, please feel free to contact her.
