In 2021, a team of MU researchers, including Kristi Ressel, former IPP Senior Research Analyst and Beau Underwood, Truman School doctoral student, conducted interviews of staff and administrators in rural Missouri health and health care organizations. They sought to understand how rural Missouri organizations implement care coordination that integrates social services with health care.
IPP Annual Summer Staff Retreat

On August 17, 2023, IPP staff met in person for the annual summer staff retreat. Topics of interest included the Director’s report, a “get to know you” activity, best practices for supervising and mentoring student research assistants, and updates on IPP policies and practices. The group met in the MU Memorial Union and meals were catered by Beet Box, a local business.

MU Institute of Public Policy partners with Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation to Conduct a Statewide Needs Assessment
Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation, part of the state’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, has contracted with the MU Institute of Public Policy to conduct a statewide needs assessment. The state’s Vocational Rehabilitation program is required by federal regulation to conduct a comprehensive statewide needs assessment every three years. Educator Preparation Program Annual Performance Report

Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) established the Annual Performance Report (APR) for Educator Preparation Programs (EPP) for the purposes of accountability and continuous improvement. The APR is based on the Missouri Standards for the Preparation of Educators (MoSPE) and measures the performance of EPPs as part of the continuing accreditation process of EPP certification programs.
